Gramercy - Manhattan
Gramercy is bordered by East 23rd Street on the north, Fifth Avenue to the west, 17th Street to the south and the East River. This area is named after Gramercy Park, a park developed in 1831. Located between 20th and 21st Street, between Park Avenue South and Third Avenue, 66 lots were initially developed around its perimeter and the buyers of these lots were each given a gold key to the park. You still need a key to access Gramercy Park, though not a gold one, and it is the only private park remaining in New York.
